Preview YouTube ‘Like Bar’ On Video Thumbnail

We normally click on a YouTube video thinking that it is interesting because of the thumbnail preview and it turned out to be either boring or useless and just a waste of time. That's why YouTube has a like bar which tells the users whether the video is good or bad but the problem is we don’t see the like bar until we click on the video. The Search results only show us the views for a video and we probably think that so much views the video must be great. So lets get rid of it and use YouTube Ratings Preview.

What is YouTube Rating Preview

YouTube Ratings Preview is a Chrome extension and by using this extension we can see the like bar on the thumbnail of a video in both search results and suggested videos, and we can easily judge that whether the video is worth watching or not.

Note : This extension works only for Chrome.

Instead your work can be reduced to half by using Move your Photos. "Move your Photos" is a Google chrome extension that enables you to transfer your pictures very easily. GTalk Contact Notifications: Get Chrome Alerts For Online Gmail Contacts

Gtalk, Google’s messenger application, gives you desktop alerts whenever one of your contacts signs in, you can opt in or out of these alerts. Similarly, if you sign in to chat via Gmail in Chrome, you can opt to get Chrome alerts for whenever some one IMs you. What you can’t do is get an alert when someone signs in. This is a slight drawback that means if you’re waiting for someone to come online, you will need to keep revisiting your Gmail tab to check their online status. GTalk Contact Notifications is a Chrome extension that gives you Chrome alerts whenever one of your contacts signs in and is available for chat.

You must be signed in to Gmail for the extension to work. The extension works for both Google App and Gmail accounts. You should have Gmail open in at least one tab in your browser, the tab doesn’t necessarily have to be active and you can minimize all Chrome windows. Whenever someone signs in to Gtalk, you receive a desktop alert from Chrome.

gtalk notification chrome

The notifications by default disappear after 3 seconds, however, you can modify the time for them to disappear or you can set it so that notification remains active until you choose to dismiss it yourself. To edit how long the notification remains on your desktop, go to the extension’s option and define, in seconds, how long it should appear. Reduce the time interval to zero if you want it to remain on your desktop until dismissed. click Save Info to save your changes.

GTalk Contact Notifications options

The extension is useful if you sign in to different accounts on GTalk and Gmail and would like to be notified when one of your Gmail contacts signs in. It is also useful if, for some reason, you don’t have Gtalk installed on your system or you’re on a netbook (think Chrome book) and you would like to be notified of online contacts.

MuteTab – Find And Mute Tabs That Are Playing Audio In Chrome

When you start browsing, you open multiple tabs at once; depending on how many links you find interesting you can end up with some twenty tabs open in a single window. But what if one of those sites you open has either a noisy flash banner, background music or videos that auto play? Finding and tracking down the tab might not be easy from those twenty or more tabs and this might be all the more annoying if you’re listening to a podcast or just trying to work in peace. MuteTab is a Chrome extension that lets you list down all tabs where the audio is playing (with options to mute them) without having to find, visit and mute them individually.

MuteTab

The extension adds a music note icon next to the URL bar. Clicking the icon opens a pop-up that lists all tabs that have any audio playing. Each page is listed with five options; Show, Mute (unsafe), Mute(safe), Restore, Close. The Show button brings the tab to front, the Restore button replays muted audio and both mute options stop audio.

MuteTab Options

You can also restrict the extension so that sound stops playing on tabs that aren’t active and only plays in the current tab. The extension doesn’t just stop videos but also works on Flash games and sites blaring out sound you might find annoying. The extension isn’t always able to restore the sound it mutes which is why it has a separate option to not mute sites it can’t restore sounds on.

mutetab context menu

The extension also lets you quickly stop and play audio across all tabs from the right-click context menu. The extension detects tabs with audio across different windows and not just the one you’re currently working in. Sadly, it couldn’t mute audio played on or from Grooveshark but managed perfectly with YouTube.Link

Access Google Talk From Your Chrome Browser With Gtalk [Extension]

Gtalk is a Chrome extension that provides complete Google Talk functionality within a pop-up window of the Chrome browser. With Gtalk extension, you can perform all Google Talk tasks such as chatting with friends, adding contacts, managing Google Talk settings, etc without the need of opening the desktop messenger. This way you can talk to your Google Talk contacts while browsing the web via Chrome. It can also provide management of two separate Google talk accounts conveniently. As during testing we opened this extension from a specific Google account and accessed the Google Talk messenger simultaneously with a separate Google I.D. The result was such that we found no conflict and were able to open both accounts at the same time (via Gtalk messenger and extension).

Gtalk
It can also be quite helpful if for some reason you do not have Google Talk installed on your computer or if you do not wish to install an extra application i.e. the Gtalk messenger. Having less applications on your system obviously reduces the load on it and using such extensions can significantly reduce the amount of pressure on a system that may have low system specs (e.g. a single core PC). It is however, worth mentioning here that this extension is in its Beta stage and therefore, might have some functionality issues. It is under heavy development and the developer has assured to make it more dynamic in the coming days.
